If I had to point my finger at just one anime as my favourite, it would undoubtably be Rurouni Kenshin. I must admit it is one of the reasons why I sought out Iaido in the first place.
Imagine my delight (and also skepticism) when they announced a live action version of it a while ago. Most anime to live action movies so far have been rather disappointing, some even being rather embarrassing!
Been back from Malaysia for a week now and finally gotten over my jetlagged state of airheadedness…
Apart from stumbling through work/life in general these past few days and trying not to kill myself (or someone else for that matter…) during Iaido class, I’ve been watching Yuyu Hakusho.
Last week I’ve given in and finally bought the Kenshin Ova/Movie deluxe box set.
Why? Because I’ve wanted it since I’ve first set my eyes on this.
“But… but you’ve seen this a million times!”
“You already HAVE the individual DVDs/VCDs”
“You still watch cartoons?!?!”
…. I hear you ask.

Well… Yes. But when has that ever stopped me from getting my merchandise fix? 
Plus, this is a BOX SET! It’s different! It’s pretty! It might even have a tinsy winsy bit of making of/additional footage.
And I find myself hugging it on the train and grinning all the way home.
..is to see fluffy snow gently drifting down while going home after a tiring but satisfying Iaido lesson, the fresh chilly breeze against my face but still feeling warm from the exercise, while listening to “Her Most Beautiful Smile” by Taro Iwashiro (from Rurouni Kenshin Ishin Shishi no Requiem OST, my absolute favourite), leaving the footprints of my soft warm boots upon fresh powdery snow on the pavement.
