We took the bus to New Barnet station, and then took the train to Hatfield. I must admit, the place is quite picturesque….
With its cute pubs dotted around….
… forebiding grand mansions….
… the old and the new….
…. odd little shops with their funny angles, and pretty little alleys that lead to little secret gardens….
… and a great big, extremely awe-inspiring church right on top of the hill!
When we were happily wandering around the graves and tombs, Remy a bit of a scare when 2 big fat squirrels suddenly darted from around the corner of the church 2 feet in front of him and scampered off into a great big tree, chasing each other and squeeking occasionally.
Asides from the overexcited fauna (Remy included), Hatfield is also lush and full of huge old trees, colourful flowers and odd-looking plants.
Remy had a bit of fun romping around a patch of daisies, and another patch of ivy….
… and even clambered up some prickly bushes for some wild summer berries!!
After the interview, we made out way back to New Barnet. We took a walk around the area as well, and stopped by Sainsbury’s to buy tonight’s dinner….
… of Irish oysters, plaice fillet and scallops on egg noodles.
