mid autumn festival…~

…..otherwise more commonly known as the Moon Cake festival is tomorrow…..

But tonight, the moon was pretty enough and the sky brilliantly clear~

  9. Enk, I’d like to introduce some ‘haiku’.

    名月を取ってくれろと泣く子哉
      Gimme that harvest moon
    cries the crying
    child

    名月や仏のように膝をくみ
      Harvest moon
    sitting cross-legged
    like the Buddha

These two haiku were written by Issa Kobayasi, who is one of famous haiku writers in Japan. And David G. Lanoue, who is a teacher of English, translated his works into English.
I found these poems on his site. If you have any interestings in Issa, please check it on the Internet. I suppose you can find many sites of him and his works.
