What, you might ask, became of the rabbit, goose and duck eggs, and wild garlic that I brought home from foraging?


First up was the duck eggs, the day after foraging. I fried them lightly, sunny side up and topped it on some grilled asparagus as a starter for dinner. Unfortunately, Waki was so hungry that he inhaled the whole lot before I had a chance to take any photos.

For the main, I cooked the rabbit into a bunny, tomatoey, carrotey stew.

It was a tad chewy since I was hungry and couldn’t be bothered to wait for it to stew properly, but the flavours were amazing, a lot less gamey than the store bought ones.

Last up, the day after, I made an omelette with the goose egg with chopped up wild garlic leaves and blossoms to garnish.
